Are peafowl illegal in Fairfax, VA?

I was wondering if peafowl are illegal in fairfax I'm pretty sure they are.

I believe they are legal. The Virginia State Code (5 Va. 15-20-50) defines peafowl as a domesticated animal, like pigeons and rabbits.

On the other hand, there are nuisance laws in Fairfax that might prohibit your keeping a peacock or peahen in a suburban location. As you probably know, peafowl make a very loud and annoying sound.

So the reality may be that they are theoretically legal, but so difficult to maintain (at least in the built up parts of the county) that it would be difficult to do so.
