Why doesn't the IRS send me monthly statements on my installment account? |
My payments are deducted from my bank account monthly. They don't send out monthly statements for Direct Debit payment plans, just annual statements. That's why the cost to set up a DD plan is half the cost of paying monthly by check. You might want to call the IRS to see what address they have on file for you (1-800-829-1040) or go to www.irs.gov and search Form 8822, print it up, fill it out and mail it to them. They don't usually send a statement as in a monthly bill showing the amount that you and the IRS agreed would be your monthly payment. They will however send you a bill for the total amount of your tax debt even though you have entered into an installment agreement. Hope this info helps. If you had not selected thd direct debit you would be getting a monthly statement and payment coupon approx 10 days before the payment due date. You don't need them. They cost IRS money to send and you chose the lower cost direct debit payment option. You will get an annual statement. |
