I filed 2007taxes through turbo but haven't sent my W-3 form for my employees & contractors.should i send now?

W-2s and 1099s were due to employees/contractors by 1/31/2008. W-3 transmittal for the W-2s was due to SSA by 2/29/2008. 940/FUTA return to IRS was due 1/31/2008. 1096 transmittal for the 1099s to IRS was due 2/29/2008. You're late - send them now. Since you're not up on payroll/bookkeeping and have employees I suggest you utilize a payroll company or hire a bookkeeper. Late filing all of the above can be subject to penalties.

When you e-file there's generally no need to send anything to the IRS unless the IRS specifically asks for it. Keep your copies in a safe place in case of any questions but don't send anything unless specifically asked.

This assumes that you're not an employer preparing W-2s for your employees and just fat-fingered "W-3" instead of "W-2". IF you ARE an employer then your W-2 and W-3 filings are over 2 1/2 months late.

You should send your W-3 and attachments two and a half months ago. The first copy of Form W-2 is the input document that credits your employees social security accounts. Their retirement benefits will suffer if you don't get on the ball.

Read your FAQ at the website or the fine print.....I believe it states NO unless you are asked to do so. When you sign your taxes electronically (pin) you are stating that what you said is true. If the IRS decides to audit you, then you will need the w-2's

Geez, a little late, aren't you? It was due in February! Did you at least give them their W-2's and 1099's? Yes, send it in, NOW. Or you can file it online at ssa.gov

That's separate from your own tax return.
