Estate tax and capital gains question....? |
Which political party protects people from the above for estates valued at less then 750,000 and capital gains at less then 500,000 for a couple. Are we better with the policies in place now or if the Dem's get in? It's irrelevant, as the Estate Tax exclusion is currently $2,000,000. It will rise to $10,000,000 in 2010 and fall back to $1,000,000 in 2011 under current law. Very few taxpayers estates ever pay any Estate Tax as most middle class taxpayers have estates worth less than $1,000,000. Estate taxes are the forte of the wealthy, not the typical middle class. You're welcome. TFTP. Report It We'll never escape the reality of taxation and the inequitable treatment of the middle class...Why? Because the vast majority of us are in the middle and we're expected to foot the bill for both the wealthy and the poor. It's called the squeeze and it's why the middle class has steadily been growing poorer over time. Will we get some reform from who's elected? Maybe...but it will be short lived with the deficits the gov't is running to provide for the rich & poor. PEACE! |
