Why do americans get taxed soo much?

is there a way to escape this predicament..LoL

It's a popular myth that Americans are heavily taxed. We enjoy some of the lowest total taxes of all modern industrialized nations. Excluding 3rd world nations and "emerging economies" only Australia and Ireland levy lower income taxes than the US, and they more than make up for it with VERY high taxes on other items.

I lived in Europe for over 10 years and taxes there are MUCH higher than in the US. Income taxes generally range from 10% to 50% higher than in the US. Add on sales taxes ranging from 17% to 23% and $3.00 per gallon in TAX for fuel and most Europeans pay double what we pay in total taxes.

TFTP Report It

Americans are near the bottom of tax rates for industrialized nations. US is the only nation that taxes the working class at a higher rate (32.6% Fed + SSI + MED) than the elite wealthy (15% Capital Gains rate). Sorry you feel so cheated and believe the conservative lies.

Spending for the War in Iraq now costs $720 million per day, including deferred costs such as long-term care for the wounded and interest on our debt. For just one day's funding for the war, we could provide health insurance for 424,000 children; put 35,000 students through a 4-year college; pay the annual salary of 12,500 new classroom teachers, or buy school lunches for 1.2 million needy kids. Actually we are taxed relatively little compared to other western nations.

You can move to Mexico. The taxes are low but the roads are not paved. With the money you save you can pay for airfare back to the US when you need to go to the hospital.

b/c the u.s.is one of the richest if not the richest countries in the world.that's why so many illegal aliens is dying to get here, for freedom and better economic benefits.

Because the governor wants more money!
