Is it true that if you work last year and filed taxes you will be getting a check from the government?

I heard that if you worked last year and filed you will be getting 600 dollers next month. Can someone help me out

yeah i made over 7 grand and had to file on my own

Not exactly. If you qualify, you'll get at least $300, and maybe as much as $600 if you paid that much in net federal income tax for the year.

To qualify, you have to have had at least $3000 of eligible income. Income from working is eligible income.

If you are a dependent, you don't qualify.
