Direct Deposit for taxes???

I had an accountant do my taxes but i had to send them through the mail. We are suppose to have our refund direct deposited. Does anybody know how long that it takes til the money is in my account and can i access it right away? Also i live in arkansas if that matters. Thanks in advance and i will choose a best answer!

the irs website doesn't tell me what i need. it jsut says how long before a paper check is mailed. does anyone know from experience how long it takes if you mail in your tax papers and opted for driect deposit?

Mine was 25 days from the date I mailed it. It was 3 weeks before the IRS web site showed it was in process (and showed a tentative refund 3 weeks out), but it was direct deposited sooner.

From one Arkie to Another: You can locate all this information on the web. Search the IRS site and they will have all kinds of data regarding what you are wanting to know.

It also has a time table saying when the checks will go out. They use the last two digits of your social security number for the paper checks which they will begin mailing in May. Direct deposit is earlier; however, I don't have the information in front of me. Good luck.

Per the IRS FAQ's
Taxpayers may also call 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about payments but should wait at least five (5) days after the e-file return is accepted before calling.

I am not going to copy and paste just go to the IRS website and it will tell you all you need to know

Normally since you waited till the end to send out your taxes it should take about 5-6 weeks
