Abolish the IRS?

Should we abloish the IRS? And if so, what should be done so Uncle Sam still gets some cash?

Well if Unlce Sam is still getting his "cash" There would still be a need for the IRS. Or at least some form of the same idea.

There is talk about a flat tax, on all purchased goods.
of like 27% so instead of paying 20 percent on ever dollar you make and another 8.25 on every one you spend.
You only pay taxes as you spend money.

That sounds fine intill you have to finance 30k plus in taxes to buy a house.

My guess is that no answer will apease all.
But something needs to be done to make the whole process much easier.

This is an appealing idea and it often kicked around like a hacky sack in a Whole Foods parking lot.

If we are willing to make massive cuts in spending we can be free of the IRS. This means no more Farm subsidy program, no Federal School Lunch, No National Park Service, No Department of Education, No Foreign Aid, No Welfare, No Food Stamps and much much more.

I doubt the National will exists for this and am sure the politicians who are addicted to the votes this gravy train buys won't touch it.

That being said Ron Paul has calculated that we only need to return to the spending levels of 2003 to reduce spending to the point where the income tax can be eliminated.

The fact that Dr. Paul rarely broke into double digit results is testimony to what the people want.

Abolish? No. The absolute best that you could hope for is a renamed IRS. Whatever tax system we have, the government will enforcement and collections.

Rest assured, the IRS isn't going away any time soon.
