What are the repercussions on not filing fed income tax for 15yrs?

not interested in any refund $. just want to know if you diidnt file how far back can they go? i thought the statute of limitations only let them (irs) go back 7 yrs? i e what if 15 yrs ago there was capital gains but for 14 yrs they owed you?
p s just a question raised at work. if it were me i wouldn't be asking the internet.....

There is no statute of limitations on securing delinquent income tax returns but as a matter of general policy, IRS only goes back six years unless there is fraud.

If the returns report income from self-employment, self employment tax (social security & medicare) will be due but your retirement account will not be credited for 2004 or earlier years. Similarily, refunds for 2004 and earlier would be lost.

contact a certified tax attorney 1st.
2nd get ur affairs in order.
u may be going away for a few yrs.

then contact IRS , much better than them calling u.
they may haved owe u BUT u definately OWE them now.
they fine u for NOT filing. sorry

If they suspect fraud is involved they can go back indefinitely.
You would have to pay penalty and interest if you owed money.

Run ! run ! run ! run ! SORRY ! But you cant hide !
