Who would have my state records for withholding form jobs from previous years?

Having a tough time getting this information from past employers.....Shouldnt the state know?

Possibly, you'll have to ask.

Your past employers are required by law to provide copies of W-2s and any other tax statements upon request, although they are allowed to charge a reasonable fee for duplicates if you lost your copies.

your past employers should have copies of your w-2 - you should be keeping copies yourself. Haven't you been filing tax returns?
