How much taxes do I have to pay? I made $14,000.00 "2007"?

Single Female Unemployed since 5/01/07 and Unemployment benefits 166.00 a week. Live in HUD housing.

Go to hrblock.com and they have a est. tax refund link were it will ask you for your gross income and your federal taxes paid with a few other simple questions.

Does that $14k include your unemployment benefits? Those are taxable.

Assuming that it does your taxable income is about $5,250 and the tax on that would be $525. If you had more than that withheld from your pay you'd get the excess back. If you had less withheld, you'd have to pay the difference.

That's Federal only. You may or may not have a State tax liability as well.

Gross Wages are $14,000 - Your Standard Deduction of $5,350 - One Personal Exemption $3,400 = $5,250 Taxable Income. Your federal taxes will be: $528. This is for federal taxes only.

I made 25,000,00 in 2007 i paid (.)(.)

You do the same You don't have to pay in Kuwait .....

probably nothing. im guessing you get back a few hundred or more

Bostonianinmo has the only correct answer so far.

If the $14K did not include your unemployment benefits, and you got $166 a week for 26 weeks, that would be an additional $4316 income for a total of $18,316. If that's the case, then your tax liability would be $1045.

If your total withholding from your job and your unemployment benefits is more than your tax liability, you'll get the extra as a refund. If you didn't have enough withheld, then you'll owe the difference.

You have to provide me with clarification for a correct answer. Are your unemployment benefits included in the 14K? Is the 14K inclusive; both wages and unemployment? What? If 14K is the grand total of everything then your federal income tax owed is $ 528.00. You will have to determine how much federal withholding you have in order to see if you have a refund or owe.
