What, if any web site do i look for property tax information, if someone owes on a property.? |
I am living in a rent to own mobile home and want to know how i could find the information on property taxes, if there is any owed on this property Contact the local tax collector's office. The can let you know if there any unpaid taxes on it. Most don't put that up on line yet though a few do -- just google it to find out. That information is handled by the county assessors office in the county where you live. Your best bet would be to give them a call and let you know what you are looking for. They will either provide you with the information you are looking for or direct you to the appropriate source. This would be pubic information so it shouldn't be impossible to find. Some but far from all counties have the info available online - check your county website. If your county doesn't, you'd have to contact the county assessor's office and would probably have to go in person to the county courthouse to get the info. When you decide to buy the mobile home, if you do, you should have an title company (or whoever handles property transfers in your state) conduct an escrow to make sure everything is done properly and you get clear title to the property. If there is any tax due, it will be paid through the escrow. |
