I am getting my cpa license soon. How much of a raise should I expect to get? First of all - CONGRATS!! That's up to your employer - anything from nothing to quite a lot. I got zero but a couple of months later was promoted and got 27.5% increase. Depends on what you think you are worth. I woud go in a sk for a raise and if I didn't get it, I would look for another company that appreciates your accomplishments. It depends entirely upon your employer. Did they make any promises? From a 0% to a 100% increase is possible if you pursue it, which means you might have to consider a career move. Don't expect much, though, without proactively seeking it! If you will soon be a CPA, I suggest you loose the "bookie" handle (unless you work for the Mafia). I wouldn't be expecting an immediate raise. It will certainly help you in your career. You will be considered for promotions over others without the CPA, which will increase your salary over time. There are some companies that give raises just for passing, but I would guess that not many of them do so. Good luck! |
