Is it possible to estimate your tax refund if you know your total income?

Is it possible to estimate your tax refund if you know your total income?

Yes it is... As long as you know if you are going to be filing joint or single & ready to do some math using this 1040 worksheet here on IRS.GOV

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.p...

No. You need to know how much you have paid in as witholding tax.

Yes, If you do not know your withholding do you know how much you claimed when you filed out your W-2? If so go to yahoo finance and go to calculators and use the payroll change calculator. It will estimate your taxes you paid already. Then with that info fill out a tax form or go to H&R Block.com and check out there caluclator.

Check out this tax calculator, http://www.expenseregister.com/Home/calc... . It will tell you what your tax (federal) is, your total withholding (money you have already paid the IRS) should be in your pay stub, the difference is the refund.

To estimate your tax refund or how much you owe, you will need to know your gross income, wages subject to withholding, your tax withholding, your total tax deductions, and tax credits that you are eligible to receive.

You'd have to have a lot more info - your filing status, whether you have any dependents and who and how old they are, and how much was withheld for federal income tax among other things.

No, He did not live with him at all. Unless he is away in college. You can claim your son if he is under the age of 19 in 2007 so that isn't an issue(24 if in school).
