How much does it cost for a tax place to do your taxes for you?

Do you have your taxes done by professionals? How much does it cost? What is the best place you've found to do it for you?

I do my own and I do others for cheap.

Here is a starting point for you for comparison; I have two college degrees, 36 years tax prep experience, college level computer training, yada. I do a federal and state of montana return and electronically file them for a flat $ 45.00.

If you don't have a complication tax situation then do it yourself. I have been using Turbo Tax for about 10 years. There is others around like TaxCut. These are usually around $40. A professional will probably charge you $100 - $200+ depending on your situation.

I have a tax accountant(CPA) do my. I don't want any problems with IRS. I pay anywhere from $65.00 to $100.00. I personally would not go to H&R Block or Jackson Hewitt some are only open during tax season and if you have a problem arise with your taxes you can go to them.

Nothing. For the last several years, I've used a IRS' Free File Alliance partner, H & R Block, and do my own for free.
I use them to e-file my federal return. Then I go to my state's dept. of revenue and e-file my state return for free.
