Institute of Fiscal Studies report says Middle Class should pay more tax?

as the poor pay 70% of their income on taxes in one way or another.

SOURCE:- today's Financial Times.

Slim - yes i saw that, and agree with you.

One thing it said was that there was no point raising tax rates on those earning over 拢100,000 as they would simply avoid paying it. Not much of a policy that, is it?

Who are the middle classes these days.

Sorry I dont read the times but cant understand who is middle class and who isn't.

If they are going to set an amount of money you have to earn I may be pushed into the working classes.

They have already managed to penalise house purchasers with stamp duty, and HIPs.

We dont need more taxes, we need more people to get off there bums and start working for a living, as the benefit system encourages people to sit at home and wait for the giro to arrive.

We need marriage to be given a tax break, and stop handing out benefits to benefit breeders.

By all means top up pensions and give them more exemptions to VAT but I object to supporting CHAVs who spend their giros on Lambert and buters and Bacardi breezers.

Blair for some reason took it upon himself to think we should support single parents saying "every child is important" as an excuse to hand over vast sums of money to to single parents, he has made it too attractive. There benefits are topped up to to the equivalent of a 2 adult family, and a working 2 parent family have to work the equivalent of 100 hours a week to receive the same amount as a one parent family on benefits.

Madness.
