Ebay scam???

hi i am selling a laptop on ebay
and today i got this email, i was wondering if anyone thought this sounds dodgy..........
I'm interested in immediate purchase of these item for my son as a gift to
him , i would have loved to bid on it, I'm just being conscious of time
because I'll be off to my work. As an air force, we were given 2 weeks off
as and i have less than 2 days before leaving back to work so if these
transaction is not completed 24 hours, i will not be able to reply to your
mails. therefore I'm willing to pay 拢550.00 for these item. These include
the shipping cost. i will also pay the VAT. Please note : I'm paying this
amount because, 1 i want to buy these item outrightly and 2 because i have
just few days to leave here and resume work on air and also do not have time
to go on shopping physically . I'm paying via pay pal and am ready to pay
the 5% pay pal charges as well. So pls send me your pay pal account email
address so that i can have your account credited.

If the amount is well over what you would expect to get, then figure it's a scam. And this is a common ebay scam. The paypal payment gets paid with a stolen credit card, and when it's discovered, your account is charged back, so you are out the money - and of course the laptop.

I'm pretty sure it's a scam. I get emails like that from time to time. First off, it's written in broken english. If someone was in the airforce I think their english would PROBABLY be better than that, and because it's not I would assume it's a chinese person or something hired to write hundreds of scam emails a day to rake in some scammed profit. Let ebay do the transaction for you, don't take it into your own hands.

u should tell him to pay u first then u could give him the product.... just in case

sorry if i miss spell something i have dyslexia

Do not do it by any means, it does not sound on the up and up.

No not at all, as long as it's through pay pal your good to go!! Help a dad out!!
