Maternity allowance?uk? |
I am now on maternity leave - which i started at 29 weeks, i gave my MATB1 form etc in on the correct date but at 31 weeks i was told i was not eligable for SMP and i would need to claim for maternity allowance. i have been without pay since and am trying to get to the bottom of why i was only told at 31 weeks. i have claimed for Maternity allowance that same week and am still waiting to hear back. can anyone tell me how long its likely to take - i am 34 weeks now and money is very tight :( When an employer decides that you do not qaulify for SMP and you make a claim for MA the DWP usually provide a form SMP1 for your employer to complete. The form is for the employer to provide the DWP with his reasons as to why you do not qaulify for SMP. |
