When should you start paying tax and how nuch should you have earned before you start paying?

You pay tax on any income over 拢5435 (2008/09) either through PAYE or by self assessment. PAYE works on a weekly/monthly basis so if you earn more than 拢453 per month, you'll pay tax on any excess.
