When did Carers Allowance depend on partner's income? |
A few weeks ago, my wife was sent a review Questionaire by DWP, this was asking all sorts of Questions about my income. Since my understanding was that elegibility only concerned my wife's part-time hours & earnings, I was suspicious. I rang A welfare Rights organisation who also felt that this was irrelevant , so I sent in the form with all the relevant details as requested. My wife has just had her allowance reduced pending enquiries into my income, so she rang the number given on the form to be asked whether I earned more than 拢204./pw! This represents less than National Minimum Wage for a full time adult! We've both looked at DWP's website & CAB etc & can still find no mention of partner's income. i get full carers allowance the only thing it should concern with is tax credits as carers allowance is a taxable income and carers allowance should not be affected by wot ur partner earns. I havent heard of this before. But i can speak for many carers ( myself included) We save the government thousands and thousands of pounds each year by caring for our loved ones. Most carers do not have the time to go out and work as well, and this benefit should not be means tested, its already a measly 'wage' for a full time job. I hope you get sorted soon x |
