How many taxpayers are there in the UK?

Just over 60 million.(All taxes)
Approx. 26 million (Income tax payers)
Approx. 1.4 million (C.G.T. payers)
Approx 600,000 (I.H.T. payers, but they're dead so do they count?

Not enough, approximately one third of the population old enough to work don't,so don't pay income tax , the other third work for the state ie, nhs, civil servants, fire police etc, and the other third work in private industry so they pay for the other two thirds wages pensions and benefits

Everyone who spends money is a tax payer, eg VAT.

there are around 29.3 million workers in the Uk paying Income tax, but truthfully everybody pays tax being VAT or other forms of indirect taxation.
