Is there much point having an ISA??

I am 18 and still in full time education so i dont get taxed. so is there much point having an isa?
i just thought that if i open one now i can start building up a good sum of savings in the tax free account becuause i know you can only invest 拢3600 a year, then when i am older and do start getting taxed i will have a large savings which will get interest tax free.
pointless idea or not?

Always worthwhile. ISAs are only really beneficial for higher rate taxpayers and the amount of taxed saved is minimal.
拢3600 *5.5%. Tax saved 拢39.60.
But every little helps......
