Tax Code goes from 522L to BR HELP!!!? |
I work at supermarket my tax code used to be 522L until i left for newer, higher paid job elsewhere. However im now back at supermarket but my tax code had changed to BR and all of a sudden im being taxed 22%, its ridiculous. I have worked out that for some reason my tax code means the IR isnt taking into effect my personal allowance of 拢5000 or w/e it is, so my emplyer has filled out a p46 and has sent it off, presumably to get my tax code changed to 522l again? I agree with Steve J - phone your tax office as soon as possible and if you know someone in your finance department who'll be available when you make the call that will be even better as they can confirm dates etc for you. Call your local tax office, they will eventually sort it out, and yes you will get any refund money due to you, just not soon! |
