How can I claim the extra tax paid if I'm leaving the job and the country by the end of March 2008??

As far as I know the extra-paid tax can be claimed back once you receive p60 from your employer after 1 April.. But, I plan to leave the country for good by the end of March 2008.. obviously I will carry on working til my last day.. how can I get P60... or claim the extra tax paid (during 2007-08 fiscal year) back..???

no

When you finish working your employer will give you a P45. You should fill in a form P85 (or P85(S) if you are not a UK citizen) and send the completed form with parts 2 and 3 of your P45 to the your employer's PAYE office.

See HMRC website for information about P85 and P85(S) http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/cnr/p85_p85s.htm
