Taxs credits question??

I am hopefully going back to work in about a month...How long should my working tax credits and 80% of nursery fees take to come through.

The reason i am asking is because I am totally as broke as a joke and the nursery wants a month in advance money and i dont no how i am going to pay them this if the tax people take ages...before when i was working - when my son was about 5 month they took about 6 weeks to process my claim for working tax which is too long to wait....

thanks for all answers and i hope i made sence..lol

It still takes about that long to come through. You could ask them for an interim payment once youve put your application in, but Im not that sure youd get one for nursery fees, plus they would have to recalculate everything to allow for the payment. You could ask for a crisis loan (go to your local jobcentre to get the number), or if your on IS now a budgeting loan which you can pay back out of your tax credits when they come. It wouldnt be a good idea to ask your new boss for a sub - it wouldnt give a good impression!

It can take up to 6 weeks but you may be able to get a social grant

my daughter had problem after problem with claiming tax credits. her baby was four months before she received any money. she managed to get a crisis loan from social fund to tide her over. you could try this for advance payment of the nursery fees.
tax credits finally paid up when she visited her local inland revenue office and they called the tax credit people for her.

hope this helps and good luck

mine took two weeks. keep pestering them every day.

www.nacab.org.uk get in touch, i know this is not the benefits agency that are dealing with ure claim but they could help advise u on how to hurry a claim along..
Hope this helps..

They are taking weeks to months at the moment

But as you are a parent you can contact them direct (or your local inland revenue) and ask to be prioritised and/or ask for an interim payment

avoid tax credits i had a friend who was overpaid 拢4,000 and 2 years later still paying it back, they no longer claim it now.

it usually takes about 2-3 weeks for it to start. pester them about it everyday after they have received your application, and it shouldnt take so long.
