Help from MPs over tax credits. What is your experience?

Has anybody sucessfully received help from an MP regarding Tax Credits problems?

I have been corresponding with the labour MP for my town and he has suggested I contact a solicitor to help me with my problems. Hold on, I thought MPs could help constituents who are having trouble resolving problems with tax credits?

Has anyone else had a negative experience with their MP?

I can tell you who I won't be voting for in the next election!

Im a benefits caseworker, this also involves disputing tax credits overpayments

I have contacted my local MP, in writing, about 5 times in the past year with different cases and iv even asked him to meet up with me so i can provide him with evidence that the tax credits system is not working and wont work if it is not radically overhauled

He didnt reply once...he isnt interested

Generally MP's 'mean well' but are 'totally ineffective' UNLESS your problem happens to fit in with whatever axe the party is grinding this month ... then you could find yourself on National TV :-)

You will have to pay import duty unless the goods are below a certain value and sent as a gift. Check the .gov website as the duty costs may well match the US purchase price.
