Contribution based jsa?

can i work out myself if i am entitled to contribution based jsa?
and what does it entail?

due to illness i was on incapacity benefit for 18 months prior to that i worked full time for 32 years.my IB claim has now ceased and that is why i ask.

it just means that if you have paid NI fore more than 12 months before your new claim you will get a bit more money, than if you haven't.
National Insurance contributions will run out after 6 months then you will drop a little

The main criteria is you must have paid national insurance stamp for the last two full tax years Apr 2005 to Apr 2007 inclusive

JSA cont based is not means tested like the other type. That means you can have savings and other household income disregarded

But...unlike the other JSA ...the cont based one is payable for 6 months only

Both JSA amounts are the same....拢59.15 per week for a single claim

Have a look at www.dwp.gov.uk think that might help
