V.A.T on imported goods? |
Can anyone tell me. I want to import some 'second hand' goods from the U.S.A to the U.K. I understand if the goods are marked as 'Gift ,value under $50' you don't pay any tax/duty etc.But I don't think this would work in this instance! You will have to pay import duty unless the goods are below a certain value and sent as a gift. yes to both...how much will depend on the weight and what the item is vat - no, because its second hand and its already been paid at some point ( i think) Yes you do. 17.5% of the total goods value. Chap above, they are second hand FROM the US say would not have VAT already. |
