Been Emergency taxed for 4 months? |
I've been in my job now for 4 months and i'm still been emergency taxed and i'm only 16. Does it sort out automatically or do i ahve to do something? no i'm paying my NI Ring the tax office and they will hurry it up if you explain. Good Luck! it should get sorted; however do question it. you can call your local inland revenue i have done this and it is quite straightforward. you have to contact your local tax office plus make sure your employers have forwarded a P45 or P46 coud mean that your employers are not paying your NI contributios which is Illeagal check out this site for your local tax office www.hmrc.gov.uk or phone 0845 3021432 Firstly check with your employers that they have registered you with the tax office. Secondly make an appointment with the tax office, take in all you wages slips and ask them when they will be giving you the proper tax code. The only way you can think of it is when you get your tax rebate it will be a nice amount to have all at one time. Good luck to you. You need to ask your employee for a P46 and sign it to say its your 1st job. Inland revenue will then, issue you with a tax code and also they will rebate you the tax you have paid. Probably in your wages in a few months time. you've should of have recived your ( NI), number from the tax office if you haven't than find the nearest one and you should get one , but before you go there take necassary paper work with you so that you don't need to go uo and ddown, Whether or not you have received your National Insurance number is nothing to do with your tax, and will not affect your tax refund. The tax office merely uses it as a reference number. this happens a lot you will probably be an l code. call them up or visit your local tax office they should help. |
