What are all the taxes in the uk?

i need to know every single one for some coursework. thanks for your time

Well the main domestic taxes are:

Income tax
Capital gains tax
National Insurance
Value added tax (VAT)
Council tax
Excise duties (such as vehicle road tax, tobacco, alcohol, fuel etc)
Property tax (Incl Stamp duty)
Inheritance tax

Many of the other taxes mentioned will actually fall within these categories.

What year has this got to be handed in? It'll take forever!

Income tax - taken from you wages.
Poll tax - land tax for your property.
Value added tax, or VAT - tax on goods you buy.
Fuel tax - for the fuel you use.
Road fund tax - vehicle tax.
Hot food tax - take away food tax.
Entertainment tax - for the broadcast of ANY music to the public.
Just to name a few!
It would be easier to name what is NOT taxed.
At this present moment in time, the air that we breath, and the number of windows our houses have!
But the window tax did happen once!
lol

OK this may take some time.

First there is income tax, then there is vat, inheritance tax, gift tax, petrol tax, alcohol tax, corporate tax, council tax, capital gains tax, stamp duty, car tax, flight tax, and the list goes on.

Extortionate.

The UK tax code runs to several volumes and being a tax expert is a highly-paid specialism because it is so complex!

So you cannot expect to know them all. But the main ones are:
income tax, paid on your earned income
national insurance, paid on earnings and by employers, to fund pensions
capital gains tax, paid on inherited income or income from sales of assets
VAT (value added tax), paid on purchases
council tax, paid to local councils based on the value of your home
vehicle excise duty, paid on your car annually
stamp duty, paid when you buy land or property
corporation tax, national tax paid by businesses
business rates, another tax paid by businesses
TV license, tax used to fund the BBC

The best way is ,go to Google and put direct taxes and then indirect taxes .They will all come up .
