How can i get hold of my P45 and P60?

I need them for my child tax credit, but cant get either from my last employer as they sent them to my last address...any ideas?

you need to get your employer to give you the payroll office for inland revenue and they will issue copies

Go to your last address.
The DSS might be able to help.
Ask your employer if he can get another one for you.

Only one P45 gets issued by an employer - it will only ever get issued when you cease working for you employer and no other copy will exist.

Similarly, only one P60 gets issued in a tax year and it will be issued by your employer(s) at the end of the tax year.

You will need to go to your last address to collect them.

Your employer is not allowed to issue duplicates of these forms. Ring HMRC and ask them to give you a letter showing these details.

As per most of the other answers, a P45 cannot be re-issued. However, as of a few years ago, the Inland Revenue changed their policy and now a P60 CAN be re-issued if the original goes astray. Still, it's really down to your employer being cooperative. If they can't issue an exact duplicate then just ask for the relevant info to be provided on headed paper or similar.

There's an even quicker way than this though...

Find your last payslip that was issued at the end of tax year '06/'07 then this should hold the info that you'll need - total earnings and tax paid in the tax year. Look for the 'cumulative' or 'to date' section and all the totals for the year should be displayed. This is what's needed for Child TCs applications. As a pointer, this payslip will have been issued towards the end of March or early April as the tax year finishes on 4th (or is it 5th - I always forget) April each year. Again, if you can't find this payslip then perhaps the employer may be willing to issue you a copy.
