Why is cost of employing some more than just the wage or slary paid to the employee? You pay the employer's share of social security (in the US). You have unemployment tax and workers compensation tax, depending on your experience. If you furnish health insurance, you have the employer's share of that. And your eontribution to a retirement plan, like a 401(k). And you furnish tools, supplies, equipment, utilities. And you have paid time off, like vacation, holidays, sick days, jury duty. |
