My employer hasnt been submitting p11 forms to the tax man..?

ive had a letter from contributions saying my ni contributions are low for last 3 years...so my retirement pension will be low...do i tell tax man my boss is on fiddle or make him pay the deficit???

You answerd your own question if your getting letters

Tell the tax man. You are innocent and should not be penalised, but your boss is a thief

Unfortunately it appears that even if you have wage slips to show your bosses have taken the taxes from you Idoubt you will get far with the enquiry. I had that happen to me and theres not a single thing you can do about it.
I am on lower rates of pension now than my counterparts as I had not shown paid enough contribs and in part it was them who were paying it for times as I was signing for credits.... so I would say that in most of the departtments concerned with this, the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is up to... and we just sit in the background and get s**t on...

P11's are not submitted to the inland revenue....the information that they hold is (but on a p35)

There are two reasons why you have had the letter (about nic's being low for 3 years)

1 Because you have been below the rate

or

2 because your employer has told the inland revenue you are

Solution is.....ring HMRC and ask them on the amount you earn should you have been paying and if you should have.....why wasnt it sorted by your boss

Beware..............The inland revenue has fallen victum to the rest of the governments reliance on IT systems which do not work and therefore it could be a error

whatever....ring them for your own peace of mind

Do you have payslips or annual forms P60 showing what deductions you have suffered? If so, do they agree? If you can prove you have had deductions made, you may be given credit for them, even if your employer has not paid them over. Reply to the letter you have received, saying what the position is. If your employer has been on the fiddle, ask them to investigate, and your employer would be asked to make good the difference. Unless you are the only employee, it may be widespread fraud.
