I live in the uk and i was wondering if i was to declare myself bankrupt what would be the end result? |
would 0i still have a job, how would my credit rating be etc You really need to speak to a debt counsellor. It depends what your job is but generally your job should be safe. You won't be able to open a bank account for years. Your possessions will most likely be sold & profits given to those that you owe money to. If you have a job you may be better off looking in to an IVA. Seek advice now. Your local council will be able to provide you with iformation on a debt counsellor. Also in the meantime be honest & communicate with the people you owe money to. They may even come up with a fair re-payment plan. bankrupcy really is the last last option. Good luck well your credit rating would be fukced you could still get a job but i doubt many people would hire you. Also you can't have a bank account so if you did get a job they'd have to pay cash but the up side is all debts would be cleared. Depending on what job you do bankruptcy usually doesn't affect your job. Unless you work in the financial sector or have a job dealing with money or if your in a position where you could be sucesptible to bribery youshould be fine. The best bet would be to talk to your employer. Your credit rating will be bad for appx 6 years or so, but chances are if your considering bankruptcy it is anyway. And it would be that way until your debts are cleared. |
