How many people are actually paying council tax, and how many of the taxable population are benefitting?

I'm struggling to keep my head above water financially, but this awful Government of traitors take the Council Tax I struggle to pay in London and send it to their poorer heartlands in the fecking North! How is that fair?

Dunno how many are paying - at least 95% of those who are supposed to, I would guess - but as for who benefits - anybody who uses roads, schools, state education, refuse disposal services, home helps, social services, libraries, parks, cemeteries, crematoria, community centres, public conveniences, taxis, public transport, trading standards regulations, planning and building regulations, municipal swimming baths, municipal sports pitches, allotments, school crossing patrols, licenced premises, public markets,council housing, sheltered housing, beaches, car parks, street lighting., nurseries....

I pay full council tax. Grumble Grumble. Im paying for lots of stuff I do not have or use, like a great many others. Moan moan..... :-(

i pay council tax. 拢1250 this year for my small 3 bed semi. i dont know anyone who doesnt pay it except for immigrants living in bed sits. i dont know what the benefits are. i never see my road being cleaned, i never see a policeman. my bin gets emptied but apart from that, what am i paying for?

In my area we have a collection rate of around 94-95% and it is improving year on year.

Unlike stated in the earlier answer , all council tax collected is kept by the council collecting it and is not re-distrubuted to other areas.

I pay 拢90 a month and dont see any benefits like many others,I feel like i'm being ripped off!!!!
