Does Jobseekers Allowance count as 拢5,000 earnings regarding tax?

I heard you have to earn 拢5,000 in a year to pay tax or avoid paying tax, but does that also include your jobseekers allowance? or only employment, but is it true you have to earn 拢5,000 or more to in a year to pay taxes?

Your limit before you pay tax is just over 拢5000. This is divided into weekly or monthly amounts and anything you earn above the allowance in that period is taxed.
Jobseekers is counted as taxable income. You dont actually pay tax on it as in a year you would not get enough, but if you start work after say six months on JSA, what you have been paid would count towards your tax free allowance.
