a complete list of componets could really help Firstly, and this affects you whether you are employed or self employed, you are only allowed to claim what you have spent. The only exception is if, as an employee, you can claim an annual expenses allowance which has been agreed between your union and the Inland Revenue. The next step is to find whether what you have spent is an allowable deduction. The criterion is for self employed "Was the expense incurred for the purpose of the trade? If the answer is clearly yes and it is not capital expenditure then the odds are that it will be allowable. Asking for allowables and disallowables is a bit like putting the cart before the horse. There are plenty of tax books in the library which will give you further information. |
