Last year the uk finally paid for monies borrowed to fight the last war When did germany pay up? they gave them the virgin islands and some other territories and also set up israel and were forced to allow 100,000 jewish people a year there rather than the 1000 britian wanted think how different the world would be today. Think the payments were complete in the late 50's um not to sure sorry!!?!!?!! Legally, the present country Germany has nothing to do with the country as it was during the reign of Hitler. So there is nothing to pay. The money we brits repaid to the US was an agreed amount for cash we needed at the time, so we were obliged to repay our debts postwar, debts we could knew we could afford to repay. The Jerries just went Kaboom, I suppose their post-war economy collapse was payment in a way!!!!!!!!!!! November the 17th 1973 Shame we didn't do the same as DeGaulle and tell the Yanks what to do with their debt. Germany received millions of dollars in aid from the USA which they didn't have to repay. |
