What to they mean by keystrokes?

Im applying as a data entry and I took the employer's typing test with 45 wpm as a result. But when they say 8-10K keystrokes, how do you convert that to wpm? Or am I confusing the two? thanks!

Words Per Minute * 300 = Keystrokes Per Hour
Keystrokes Per Hour / 300 = Words Per Minute

So you type 45wmp * 300 = 13,500 or 13.5k kph

Keystrokes per hour (ksph) are the number of times your fingers press the keys on your keyboard in one hour. In data entry, this is crucial as they require people who can accurately, and QUICKLY enter data, not just type letters. So they are two different evaluations of a similar skill, but for distinctly different reasons.

Hope that helps!

its when your fingers hit the keys on the keyboard, thats a keystroke!

:)
