What would be the best answer of this question " have you ever had conflict with you employees in past ?

i am preparing for a production supervisor interview ..i never had any conflict with any person because i am very friendly and not a conflict oriented guy. please suggest me a good influensive answer.
thanks in advance

I agree with the previous person, however, I would say you have had a conflict with another employee and that you attempted conflict resolution by maintaining professionalism and common courtesy towards your co-worker. Try not to sound negative about the other person (that's what they are trying to pull out of you...negativity)

I think you need to be honest. If you haven't had conflict say that. I then think, however, that you need to explain that if you were to have conflict with employees (let's face it, conflict is a part of life unfortunately & you should feel blessed to have avoided it for whatever reason!), you would handle it blah blah.

If you don't know how you would handle it, think of some past supervisors that you have had and how they dealt with conflict. Hopefully you have seen it dealt with in a good and bad manner. Actually say this to the interviewer. That you would handle it this way because blah blah and you wouldn't handle it this way because blah blah.

For example, I had a supervisor that handled conflict really REALLY badly by yelling and ranting and raving and then sulking for a week. This was NOT leading by example and we hated her for it.

In saying that, my current awesome supervisor handles conflict head on. Not in a confrontational way but in a proactive, let's fix this approach.

Good luck with your interview.

1st HR mangers don't like huge descriptive answers.
Yah right?! Am I crazy or what.

Used to work in HR.
They like simple answers and descriptive answers.
You say you never had any conflict. Then say no never had any conflict.
The HR manager then does a background check they will no the correct questions to ask your previous employer to see what you told them is true. So don't lie.
There are books at the Library which you should go read or book store and by on types of interviewing.
Try not to go unprepared.
Monster.com and I think Yahoo Hotjobs has Q & Answers for this.
Later.

Your answer should be something like this:

Nothing that couldn't be resolved in a mature manner between themselves and myself."

It shows honesty and maturity....something I look for when I'm adding people to my team.
