My bachelor degree is in Sociology with emphasis in Social Work, Now What?

constantly looking and submitting my resume for jobs very similar to my education

I majored in Sociology (minored in Ethnic Studies) when I was in college and I currently have a county job, working for a Job and Family Services agency. I think that you should possibly pursue employment with the government, whether it's local, county, or state level. I think that you would be able to find something. It takes a great deal of time when it comes to the hiring process with those types of places- up to 6 months. Many of my college friends were Sociology majors and they are currently working in the following areas of government and social services agencies, Income maintenance- where they determine eligibility for financial assistance for families, Children Services, Employment and Training- assisting job seekers,and,Child Support Enforcement. It can be a challenge because some places do prefer a MSW or some type of license. A few of my friends decided to pursue graduate studies and have switched gears, heading towards education and human resources. I myself am currently going through the application process of graduate school. If I could do it all over again, I would have had a double major because it is hard when you're majoring in the social sciences, I don't know how many job interviews I went on where I was asked what sociology was. Best advice would be to go on for your MSW. You may be able to get an entry level job in a state agency of social services - however since you don't have a BSW you will be at a disadvantage.

You can apply to NGO's which are working for rural development schemes. But if you get any new generation certificates like relationship programme, customer care etc you have wider possibilities.
