Need guidance for career?

I got a job in MNS as software developer.I heard there wont be enough time for other activites such as sports.I have a strong desire to play in sports. Is it possible to be in job and play in tournaments?

I know this field, not from a knowledge of, but having friends that are and in management at corporate level I worked with developers/programmers.

This is an area of business that can be "demanding", mostly than not. When contracted to "develop" software for a company time is critical. Your software when complete improves the way that business operates. Improvements mean better service to clients, "faster" transactions, may eliminate jobs by increasing capabilities of an individual, many other "descriptions" are dependent on YOU, and how quickly you complete.

Nothing is perfect the first time. As employees begin utilizing new software you will be needed to "work out" the bugs. Many times this cannot be done during normal work hours and your time will be necessary evenings. Days beginning as "normal", evening plans set, can change in an "instant".

Many "software developers" I personally know are under "contract" with a company. Contracts can indicate employment for years or until completion of the project. They spend many long days "developing" and insuring proper "specs". You, at times last minute, may be required to personally go on-site for installation. Last summer a close friend working with Siemens in Atlanta developed a new software for "steering and rudder control" for a cruise ship. He had to leave, unexpectedly, same day to install, flew into Miami, then on a helicopter, shuttled to ship at sea.

You will be a busy person but make good "money". There will be times people will be "on your back" and you must remain in control, but calm. Most want to know how much longer and you must respond politely.

You can do other activities but team members, your relationships, etc. must be understanding.

Good Luck, stay positive.

sure. Plz dont miss the job opportunity. u hav lot of opportunity to play in tournaments, but for first Six months or One year dont take off.U can achieve in both the events, world is urs.
