Do other countries besides the USA have to file Taxes?

I know that other countries have higher taxes on stuff they buy, but do they have to file taxes once a year?

Do you really think that other countries are free from the burden of taxes?
Having said that, to answer your question, do they file taxes yearly. The answer is no, not all countries. In some countries, the UK for example, has a system where by workers have the taxes taken from their wages by their employers weekly or monthly, they call it P.A.Y.E, pay as you earn. The system then allows for the refund of any over payment at the end of the tax year. But if the workers are self employed or their wages fluctuate month to month or year by year, then those people have to file a return annually. Several countries world wide use that system making it easier for folks to pay the taxes without any nasty surprises at the end of the year. So you see we are not the only people giving the government our hard earned money to waste.A famous American, and I will leave it to you to find out who he was, said two thing are sure in this world, death and taxes

Almost every country does.

Some pay more than half of their wages to income tax. The USA pays approx a third +/-.
