Tax filing question... Economic Stimulus...? |
I suspect some inaccuracies in my tax return. Should I submit my return and then amend it once the bugs are worked out? Don't file a return with errors. That will delay everything for the longest time. If necessary, file for an extension today. Unfortunately, you can't file for an extension online. It's a paper form that must be mailed in. If you owe taxes, definitely file now and avoid a penalty. Make sure you cover enough to account for your inaccuracies. Then I'd file the amended return after you get your rebate. Amend after Economic Stimulus is received. The government can't handle all this at one time. |
