Taxes at18? |
im 18 dont work and go to school (high school) You only need to file an income tax return if you have income (or under certain other conditions that probably will not apply to you). For example, if you have a bank account that earns interest or stocks that pay dividends, the interest or dividends are taxable income and, if the amount is enough, you must file and pay taxes. This does not began at 18. It applies to children as well. If you have no income at all, then you do not need to pay income taxes. Do you have other income or own a car? If you don't have any income at all (like interest or dividends), you won't have to pay income tax. If you own a car, depending on where you live, you may have personal property tax. Also depending on where you live, you may have to pay per capita tax. If you don't have income, you don't have to file an income tax return - there wouldn't be anything to put on it. |
