What does raising taxes of wealthy do to the economy? |
When democratic candidates like Barack Obama say that they want to increase taxes of the wealthy, how does this impact the our economy. What changes might take place because of this. The wealthy already pay a higher percentage than the rest of us. The wealthy are also more likely to invest their money in businesses that give people jobs. If they are the average person gets all the same breaks as the wealthy.......you just have to have the money. The reason the wealthy get big tax write offs is because they are risking their money to invest in corporations that keep the economy going. Think about it. If you tax the rich, you'll get more money from them then you would the average middle class American. 6% tax on 6,000,000 is more then 60,000, right? Sooooo we'll get more money to those who need it in that area. Police men and teachers will be able to be paid more, buildings can be taken care of, children will have better schools, roads and houses will be maintained. The list goes on and on. Breaks down the fabric of everything that made this country. Remember, we already tax the wealthy at higher rates than the average wage earner. There are tons of hidden charges in the tax structure already, that remove deductions that higher income earners can take. For instance, your deduction for your children goes down as you earn more. Is that fair???? If there are loopholes that let the rich avoid taxes, close those loopholes, but simply raising the tax rate for one class of citizens is not fair. currently the spread between rich and poor is expanding........ This claim is made EVERY election cycle. Nothing new. If you look at population shifts in America - you'll notice a big boom in Florida . a State with NO income tax. It means more taxes paid by a wealthier individual. However, that won't usually mean less in their pocket books. Wealthier individuals will still maintain their standard of living, probably by pulling more cash flow out of their businesses and other investments to cover the additional tax burden. |
