I use my car for advertising, and work purposes. How much can I write off on my taxes.?

I use my car for advertising and travel.

you can claim a percentage of the motor expenses, depending on what proportion of total costs are concerned with your business. I claim about 70% of my motor costs because I drive the car for work a lot, but your accountant can advise.

Ask your accountant. I think you can write of 31 cents / mile, but it only starts from when you leave the office to when you return to the office. If you run errands on the way to work or on the way home, you can't count them.

If you have a legitimate home office that you actually use for work, then you can consider that your office, and thus count the miles from when you leave your home.

You have to keep a record of your travel.

For advertising, the cost of the advertising materials ONLY.

For business use, either 48.5垄 per mile OR a pro-rata share of the actual operating costs for the actual business use.

For commuting to work, nothing.

You can claim a percentage of your actual expenses or you can use the standard mileage deduction which this year is 48.5.
