What do car taxes pay for?? its urgent!?

What do car taxes pay for?? its urgent!?

They pay for roads and other transportation infrastructure like bridges. Anything that a car touches in the public domain is probably paid for in some way by the property tax that you pay every year with your car registration.

It is a type of property tax. They can be used to pay for many things in the state or county. I am sorry that is all I know.

There is a sales tax on a purchased vehicle based on your local rates. This money is applied to a general fund in your state and is used for whatever is deemed necessary.

It's just revenue for the government. The legislature is free to spend it any way they wish. In other words, they pay for anything that the government desides to spend the money on.

It's like your paycheck. You spend it on whatever you need or want. The government does the same with its income too.

In some states there are sales taxes, excise taxes, and gas taxes. Some states claim to use some of these for roads and bridges, but usually it all just goes in the general fund.
Good luck on your test.

Are you referring to sales tax, registration fees, or the property tax assessed on your vehicle? What state are you in? Sometimes these are county taxes.
