Irs..........?

i owe the irs about 4000 dollars, i already set-up a payment plan for 300.00 dollars a month...i did this back in may of 2007 and they still haven't took any money out my account...what's going on? also, will they just take my income tax each year as oppose to dipping in my monthly paycheck..thanks

they haven't sent me any notices, my mail is screwed up because i live and a different country now

If you set up the agreement to be automatic withdrawal they would take the money out, otherwise it's up to you to send a check. They shouldn't take your refund check if you're current with payments, but they can. I would check with your installment agreement to see how they are to get paid, and maybe give them a call, 1-800-829-1040, if you are supposed to be sending them a check each month. Non-payment in any month can void the installment agreement and make the entire amount due at once.

TFBA Report It

If you're still having IRS trouble, I work at a law firm. You can call if you have more questions (703) 425-1400. Report It

I believe you need to be sending the payment to them. Call them in a hurry before you get a man with a badge and a scowl on his face at your door. The second question depends on what you agreed to do.

ummm..why haven't you contacted the IRS???

Yes, they will take your income tax money each year until the debt is paid off. You dont want this to happen, because come tax time, all your money will be gone, and you will end up oweing more money. Start making payments. Dont wait for them to take the money, send it to them. And keep reciepts for each payment you make. Lots of times, they expect you to send the payment,.. A.K.A They are lazy

You have to send them the payments; they don't pull them from your account. If you haven't sent them anything since May, you no longer have an agreement in place. They would have been in contact with you by now regarding this; what have you been doing with their notices??

No excuse! The Post Office does forward mail overseas. Why didn't you contact the IRS with your new address?
