Taxes refund for foreign tourist in usa? |
Taxes refund for foreign tourist in usa? Sorry, but no refund. What taxes were you looking for a refund for? The USA does not have a value added tax, so no, taxes paid on purchases are not refunded to tourists like in Canada and many European countries. The tax paid in the US is a sales tax and is not refunded. Sorry, but the US does not offer that. Sales taxes are levied on all taxable sales regardless of your residence. It would be impossible to manage a rebate program as there are literally thousands of taxing authorities and districts nationwide. If you are talking about the sales tax that you paid when you made a purchase their is no refund of that. If you are talking about other types of tax there are a few very remote cases in which you may have a refund. I have only seen a couple of those cases and they involved working while here on vacation.. |
